Sprouted Green gram salad/Molake hesaru kaalu kosambari is an ideal food for low calorie diets.Sprouted Green gram salad is prepared with raw veggies and is an healthy salad to start your day.  

If you are on diet just a bowl of this salad is sufficient for the breakfast. Try this recipe which needs no oil, no fire and easy to prepare.

Health Benefits Of Greengram:

- Rich in protein. It is free from the heaviness and tendency to flatulence, which is associated with other pulses.The seeds are rich in calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, potassium, folate and other B Vitamins. They also contain appreciable amounts of Vitamin C.  Its regular use during childhood, pregnancy and lactation helps one to get the required nutrition and promote health.

- Green gram Sprouts increases the protein content and can also be introduced as day time snack for people of all ages.

Servings: 2 - 3 people


Sprouted Greengram: 1 cup

Cucumber: 3/4 cup

Grated Carrot: 3/4 cup

Coriander Leaves: A handful

Lemon juice: 1 tsp

Pepper powder: 2 tsp

Salt to taste

Asafoetida: A pinch

1. Mix Sprouted greengram, finely chopped cucumber, grated carrot in a vessel or bowl.

2. Add pepper powder, lemon juice, asafoetida and salt to taste. Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.
