Pongal is a healthy & tasty South Indian dish prepared with rice and moong dal, but this is slightly different. Here instead if rice i have used Broken wheat/Cracked wheat.
1. Dalia (Broken Wheat)- 1 cup
2. Moong Dal: 1/2 cup
3. Cumin seeds: 2 teaspn
4. Hing: a pinch
5. Curry leaves- 8 to 10
6. Pepper powder: 1 tsp
7. Green chillies: 2 nos
8. Salt to taste
9. Ghee - 2 tsp
10. Pepper corns: 6 - 7
1. Heat ghee in pressure pan, add mustard seeds , when it starts
spluttering add pepper corns, green chillies, washed broken wheat and moong dal and fry for 1- 2 minutes.
3. Now add water, salt, curry leaves and pepper powder, mix well.
4. Close the pressure cooker and cook till done.
Your Healthy Tasty Broken Wheat Khara Pongal is ready in minutes. Serve hot.....
