Akki Kanji is a healthy , delicious and easily digestable porridge suitable for breakfast and dinner. Best food for summer.
Rice : 1 Cup
Water : 8 Cups
Jeera: 2 tbsp
Ginger: 1inch finely chopped
Salt: To taste
Ghee: 2 tbsp
Grated Coconut: 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp finely chopped
Curry leaves: 1 strand
Asafoetida : Pinch
1. Take a large vessel, wash 1 cup rice throughly and to it add 8 cups of water, 1/4 cup coconut , 1 tbsp
jeera, finely chopped ginger, 1 spoon of salt, 2 tbsp ghee, coriander leaves, curry
2. Place it in a pressure cooker, bring it to 5 whistles and simmer for few minutes and switch off. After it releases the pressure, add 1 more cup of water, adjust salt as per taste and put oggarane with 1 tbsp ghee, jeera, hingu and green chillies(optional). Bring it to boil.
3. Serve hot with gojju or pickle.
