Sprouted Horsegram Sambar/Molake Hurali kalu Huli is a very healthy bean which is rich in protein. Horsegram Sambar is especially good during cold season. It is very easy to prepare.
Sprouted Horse Gram: 400 gms
Potatoes - 2 medium sized chopped
Tomato - 1
Onion - 2 medium sized chopped
Curry Leaves - 2 strands
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
Sambar Powder - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
1. Grind 1 onion, tomato, coconut and sambar powder to a fine paste.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds and on spluttering add curry leaves, asafoetida, onions, turmeric fry till it turns transparent. Add potatoes and fry for a min.
3. Add the sprouted horsegram , paste from step 1 and mix well. Pour 1 cup of water. Add salt to taste.
4. Close the lid of the cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Your delicious Horsegram Sambar is ready to serve with rice.
