Few days back we posted crispy wedges from leftover idlis, here comes one more interesting... Pakoras from leftover idlis.
Leftover Idlis: 4
Besan/Bengalgram Flour: 4 tbsp
Rice Flour: 2 tbsp
Onion: 1 cut lengthwise
Curry leaves : 2 strands
Red chilly powder: 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
1. Mash the leftover idlis.
2. In a large bowl mix together besan, leftover idlis, rice flour, sliced onion, red chilly powder, curry leaves and salt.
3. Slowly add in the water and the batter should be thick.
4. Heat oil in the frying pan, slowly place the tablespoons of batter into the hot oil and fry them. Do not overcrowd them. Fry pakoras until they are brown.
Repeat the same for the remaining batter.
Serve hot pakoras with green chutney or ketchup.
