         Pav Bhaji - Beetroot Bhaji

Pav Bhaji is a popular indian street food liked by everyone. Pav means Bun and Bhaji means mix vegetables.Pav bhaji is best for evening snack and sometimes kids love to carry this for their lunch box too. It is the great way to fed kids with veggies.  Here i have used potatoes, tomatoes, peas and grated beetroot, Try this simple version of beetroot pav bhaji ...

Ingredients:
Pav Buns - 12
Onions - 2 finely chopped
Tomato Puree  - Grind 2 tomatoes and prepare puree
Potato - 3 boiled and mashed
Grated Beetroot- 1/2
Peas - A handful
Jeera - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tbsp
Peas -  A handful
Pav Bhaji Masala powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander Leaves - Handful chopped finely
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 2 finely chopped
Water - 1 cup
Salt as per taste

Procedure:

1. Boil potatoes and mash them.
2. Heat oil in the kadai, add jeera and onions. Fry till it turns transparent.
3. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
4. Add tomato puree(paste), peas, grated beet root. Mix well. Add little water and boil for 5 mins.

5. Add Mashed potatoes, turmeric, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, pav bhaji masala powder and chilli powder.
6. Stir for a minute and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
8. Add 1/2 cup of water and simmer.
9. Garnish with coriander  leaves.

10. For the pavs, slit the pav buns horizontalls from the middle.
11. Apply butter on the cut surface and fry in hot pan.

12. Remove when it is golden brown.
13. Serve hot pav buns , bhaji and chopped onion.
