Bonda/bajji is a very tasty crispy snack prepared in minutes in Karnataka. I tried using betel leaf to prepare bonda/bajji. Betel leaf bonda a unique recipe, very crispy and tasty bonda.... Just try and you will surely like this.
1. Betel leaves - 5 (Big)
2. Besan Flour - 2 cups
3. Rice flour - 3 tsp
4. Chilli Powder - 3 tsp
5. Salt to taste
6. Baking Soda - A pinch
7. Salt - A pinch
8. Oil For deep frying
1. Wash and Cut the leaf into 2 or 3 pieces, which ever is convenient.
2. Mix Besan, Rice Flour, salt, Chilly Powder, Baking Soda and a pinch of sugar with water and make a thick batter.
3. Heat oil in a Kadi.
4. Dip each piece of betel leaf in the batter and deep fry on medium flame, till it turns golden brown in color.
Serve hot with or without Tomato sauce.
