Knol Khol Palya/sabzi is very easy to prepare and tasty too. You can serve this with chapathi and also rice.
Knol Khol - 2 big sized chopped to small pieces
Potato - 1 chopped to small pieces
Peas - A handful
Chillies - 3 cut lengthwise
Coriander leaves - a few chopped finely
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Blackgram dal - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 3/4 tsp
Fresh grated coconut - A handful
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
1. Wash and chop all the veggies.
2. Place a cooker with 2 spoons of oil in it on a low flame.
When hot, add mustard seeds to it. Add blackgram dal when it starts
spluttering. When fried add slit green chilly, cumin seeds, asafoetida
powder, turmeric powder in a row. Add green peas and fry for a while in
3. Finally add chopped knolkol, chopped potatoes, salt and also fresh
grated coconut and very little water to cook. Place the pressure whistle
and cook for about 3 -4 whistles.
4. On cooling add lemon juice and mix well. You can serve this with chapathi or rice.
