Beans Sabzi/Palya is a very simple, easy to prepare and tastes great. It is a non spicy dish.
Green Beans: 1 cup (cut lengthwise)
Onion : 1 chopped medium sized
Onion : 1 finely chopped
Tomato : 1 chopped finely
Potato : Boiled and smashed 1/4 cup (optional)
Curry Leaves : 1 strand
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Coconut grated : 1/4 cup
Green Chillies : 3 to 4
Ginger : 1 inch
Garlic (optional) - 2 to 3
Salt to taste
Oil : 1 tbsp
Channa dal: 1 tsp
Urad dhal : 1 tsp
1. Fry medium sized onion, green chillies, coconut, ginger, garlic in 1 tsp oil for a minute.
2. Grind step 1 ingredients to a fine paste.
3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, when it starts spluttering add Channa dal, Urad dal, Curry leaves, chopped beans, fine chopped onion and tomatoes . Add very little water and close it with the lid.
4. When beans turns soft add the fine paste (Step 2) and salt to taste. Now add smashed potatoes and handful of peas (optional). Simmer covered for 5 minutes.
Chatphat Beans Palya is Ready to serve with rotis/chapati. No spicy ingredients added!!!!
