Green tomatoes taste very different from the usual red tomatoes. Green tomatoes Sabzi/Palya goes well with chapati and it tastes awesome.

Green Tomato / Tomato Kayee : 4 -5 medium sized chopped
Onion : 1 chopped finely
Powdered Jaggery: 1 tbsp
Asafoetida or Ginger Garlic paste
Roasted Bengal Gram/Putani/Hurkadle - 1 tbsp finely powdered
Oil: 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds: 1 tsp
Jeera Seeds: 1 tsp
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves : 1 strand
Grated coconut: 1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste
1. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, when it starts spluttering add Jeera Seeds, Curry leaves,Turmeric, Asafoetida, chopped onion. Fry till it turns soft.
2. Add chopped green tomatoes, mix well and add very little water and close it with lid.
3. When green tomatoes turns soft add sambar powder, grated coconut, putani powder, powdered jaggery and mix well. Add salt to taste.
4. Fry for a minute and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve Green Tomato Sabzi with Chapti.
