Khara Pongal without Menthya/Methi seeds gojju is incomplete. Menthya gojju is very easy to prepare and tasty too.
Methi Seeds: 1 tsp
Curry Leaves: 1 Strand
Tamarind juice: 1 tbsp
Grated Jaggery: 1 tbsp
Red Chillies: 1
Red chilly powder / Rasam powder: 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil: 1 tsp
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Water: 1 cup
1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds wait until it crackles. Then add methi seeds and fry until golden brown.
2. Add chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida one after another.
3. Stir in Tamarind juice, chilly powder/rasam powder, water and jaggery. Bring it to boil and keep aside to cool.
Methi Seeds/Menthya Gojju is ready to serve huggi/pongal or rice.
