         Tomato Spring Onion Sabzi

Tomatoes are an important ingredient in all the major Indian recipes but some times it is the main dish in itself. Tomato Spring Onion Sabzi is very easy to prepare and taste great with chapati/roti.

Big Sized Tomatoes: 4 chopped finely

Spring onion: 8-10 strands chopped finely

Green chillies: 1 cut lengthwise

Jeera Powder: 1 tsp

Chilli Powder: 1 tsp

Putani/Roasted Bengal Gram Powder: 1 tsp

Sambar powder: 1 tsp

Jaggery: 2 tsp

Jeera: 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Curry Leaves: 1 strand

Oil: 1 tbsp

Grated coconut: 1 tbsp


1. Heat oil in heavy bottom pan or kadai in a medium flame. Add jeera, curry leaves, green chillies, spring onion and tomatoes.

2. Fry until tomatoes turns soft.

3. Reduce the flame add jaggery, chilli powder, jeera powder, sambar powder, putani powder and salt. Mix well.

4. Switch off the flame, add grated coconut and mix well.

Serve Tomato Spring onion sabzi with chapati or roti.
