         Kids Kishmish Pulav

Kishmish Pulav is not spicy and ideal for kids breakfast/lunch box. It is also very easy to prepare and you need very few vegetables like carrot,peas and a handful of kishmish.

Preparation time: 40 mins

Servings : 3 - 4 people

Ingredients:

Jeera Rice /Basmati Rice: 1 cup

Chopped onion : 1 cup

Kish mish : 1 handful or 1/2 cup

Pepper : 2-3

Bay leaves: 1

Cinnamon: 1 piece(2″)

Peas + Carrot : 1 cup

Ghee + Oil : 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Jeera: 1 tbsp

Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp

Procedure:

1) Wash Rice with water. Pour out the water completely - rice should stay as dry as possible for 30 mins.

2) Heat Oil + ghee in a cooker container/pan. Add Kishmish and fry , take half the quantity of it and keep it aside. Add Jeera, Pepper, cinnamon, Onion and fry until the Onions look slightly transparent. Now add  Pulao Leaves and fry for a min.

3) Add vegetables and fry in the container.

4) Add  Rice from step 1 and fry until the Rice turns a bit thick. Now add 2 cups of water to the cooker and stir for a min. Add Salt and close the pressure cooker lid and allow the contents to cook.

5) When you hear the 2 - 3 cooker whistles, switch to low flame and continue to heat for about 2 minutes. Then switch off the flame and allow the pressure of the cooker to ease.

6) Add Kishmish which was kept aside, and squeeze the lemon juice, mix well.

Now Kishmish Pulav  is ready to serve for lunch box. You can have this Pulav with Raitha also.
