Khara Puri is the best and easy snacks you can just think of when it is raining. You can prepare this in minutes. Also you can store in air tight containers for 2 to 3 days.
Churmuri/Puffed Rice/Kadalepuri - 2 Big Cups
Hurigadle/Putani/Roasted Bengal Gram - A Handful
Ground nuts - 1/2 cup
Curry Leaves - 2 strands
Red Chillies - 4
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Garlic pods - 7 to 8 (Optional Replace this with Asafoetida)
Jeera Seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Dry Copra - 10 - 15 pieces Chopped Length wise
Oil - 1 tbsp
1. Heat the heavy bottom pan with oil on a medium flame. Add the mustard seeds and on spluttering add turmeric, jeera, curry leaves and red chillies.
2. Add Putani/Roasted Bengal Gram and Ground nuts. Fry till it turns crispy. Then add garlic pods and fry for a min.
3. Add Salt, Sugar, Red chilli powder and mix well.
4. Now add the Puri/Puffed rice and reduce the flame. Mix well and switch off the flame. Let it cool down.
On cooling you can store it in air tight jars.
Serve this with evening tea.
