Delicious and Easy to prepare simple Dal Rasam with Rice often prepared at home. Also called as Kattina saru or Kattu in kannada.

Ingredients:
1. Toor Dal - 1 cup
2. Green Chillies - 4-5 chopped lengthwise
3. Coriander leaves a handful
4. Curry leaves - 2 strands
5. Tomatoes - 1 chopped finely
6. Salt to taste
7. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
8. Jeera - 1 tsp
9. Pepper powder - 2 tsp
10. Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
11. Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
12. ghee - 1 tbsp
13. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Procedure:
1. Pressure cook Toor Dal.
2. In a pan add ghee and heat. Add mustard seeds when it starts spluttering add jeera, green chillies, tomato and saute for 2 minutes.
3. Now add cooked toor dal and required quantity of water. Cook for 5 minutes add salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder, Asafoetida, curry leaves, mix well and bring to boil for few more minutes.
4. Garnish with Coriander leaves. Add lemon juice and serve with hot Rice.
