Benne Muruku/Chakkuli is one of the popular snacks in Karnataka. Best tea time snack. Very easy and quick too... Try it out and you agree with me. Probably they would never say 'No' to it if you offer them a bowlful of it with coffee or tea like this. Benne means Butter in Kannada.

Ingredients:
1. Rice Flour - 1 Cup
2. Putani/Roasted Bengalgram - 1/2 cup
3. White sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
4. Butter - 1/4 cup
5. Salt to taste
6. Oil to fry
7. Asafoetida - 1tsp
Procedure:
1. Make fine powder of Putani/Roasted Bengalgram.
2. Mix Rice Flour, Putani/Roasted Bengalgram powder, salt to taste, White sesame seeds, Asafoetida well in a bowl.
3. Just melt butter and add it to the mixture (step 2). Mix well. Add little water and make soft dough.
4. Take a Kadai/thick bottomed pan, heat oil for deep frying
5. Place dough in Muruku maker and press directly into hot oil. Fry till crisp.
Cool and store in air tight container. Serve with hot coffee/tea....
